About Advanced Bionics Temporal Bone Workshop
Dr. Rao’s ENT in collaboration with Advanced Bionics, is pleased to invite you to a two-day surgical
training program at Dr. Rao’s ENT in Hyderabad, India. This program is tailored for ENT surgeons with
moderate cochlear implant experience who wish to refine their skills in advanced surgical techniques for
cochlear implantation.

Hosting Course FacultyDirector, ENT & Cochlear Implant Surgeon, Dr. Rao’s ENT Hospitals & Cochlear Implant CentreDr. Shree Rao is a director at Dr. Rao’s ENT Super Specialty Hospital with over 11 years of experience in the field of ENT. She underwent specialised training in Rhinoplasty and Facial Plastic Surgery at Singapore General Hospital, Singapore. She underwent advanced training in cochlear implant surgery under Padmashri Dr. Milind V. Kirtane and has a fellowship in cochlear implants. She also underwent specialised training in Head and Neck, specially in Thyroid surgeries. Presently, she heads the Cochlear Implant team and Head & Neck Surgical Department at Dr. Rao’s ENT Group of Hospitals.

DSc(Hon), MS, DORL, MBBS, FNAMS 30 Years of CI ExperienceDr. Milind V. Kirtane received his M.S. degree in ENT from Seth G.S. Medical College and King Edward Memorial Hospital, Mumbai, India. He is a Consulting ENT Surgeon at P. D. Hinduja National Hospital and Medical Research Centre, Mumbai, Breach Candy, Cumballa Hill, and Saifee hospitals, Mumbai. He is also a Hon. Surgeon at King Edward Memorial Hospital and Professor Emeritus at Seth G.S. Medical College, Mumbai. r. Kirtane has a special interest in cochlear implants, endoscopic sinus surgery, and neurotology.

Dr. Shujiro Minami
M.D., Ph.D, Cert JSOHNS, Cert JSGC, Cert NCCHNS14 years of CI ExperienceDr. Minami is a certified otolaryngologist by the Japanese Society of Otolaryngology, a certified clinical geneticist by the Japanese Society of Human Genetics, and a certified head and neck cancer specialist by the Japanese Society of Head and Neck Surgery. His clinical interests and expertise revolve around the treatment of pediatric hearing loss. Dr. Minami has performed over 700 cochlear implant surgeries and was awarded the Politzer Prize for ‘Inner ear malformations and EABR’ in 2013.
A/Prof. Payal Mukherjee
MBBS, FRACS (ORLHNS), MS, PhD15 years of CI ExperienceA/Prof Mukherjee (MBBS, FRACS (ORLHNS), MS, PhD) is an Adult and Paediatric ENT surgeon based in Sydney with a subspecialty in advanced ear surgery, cochlear implants, and lateral skull base surgery. With a strong focus on cochlear implants, her extensive experience spans both clinical practice and research. Her special expertise in clinical practice include implantable hearing aids and vestibular disorders. Her special expertise in research includes 3D anatomical analysis of the inner ear, temporal bone studies of robotic cochlear implantation and electrode design. Her PhD applied 3D printing and bioprinting technology to treat ear diseases. She is one of 4 cochairs in Australia, leading the ANZ hearing health collaborative to develop binational cochlear implant guidelines.
